Here at Prime Stables, we are proud to present a stunning, classically styled range of Sussex garden rooms that completely suit the individual needs and purposes of our clients. If you have been imagining your ideal garden room anywhere in Sussex, from East Wittering to Rye, we will be able to make it for you. Your product will then be delivered directly from our workshops and fully installed on your property by our very own team of expert builders.
We are certain that we will have the garden room solution you need, no matter if you have your heart set on an art studio surrounded by nature, would like a workshop with a storage shed for all your tools and equipment, or have been looking to make the most of your time outdoors in the summer with a new seating area. Consider the options we have available here on our website, or get in touch with us right away if you already know what you need to complete your outdoor space.
We also supplied and installed the decking underneath the overhang and in front of the doors. Inside we installed a timber floor throughout. The roof is Timber Cedar shingle, again, supplied and installed by ourselves.
Our Specifications for Fine Oak Framed Garden Rooms in Sussex
Each of our wooden garden rooms are made using the highest quality kiln-dried timber available to us. This offers you greater levels of insulation and protection against the elements, but if you wish to ensure that your Sussex garden room is fully insulated, we will be happy to place lining in the walls which guarantees it. All fitted windows are double glazed as standard as well, while the doors come complete with mortice locks and toughened glass, offering your new space the levels of comfort, protection and safety that you deserve.
Our Bespoke Garden Rooms Offer Everything You Need
We love what we do, and part of the satisfaction that comes with our work is seeing our clients receive exactly what they have asked for. This is why each of our oak framed buildings and garden rooms are manufactured to bespoke specifications, as set out by the purchaser when they placed their order. We will be glad to offer you your very own bespoke timber building too, when you call or email us to discuss building a garden room for your property.
Every requirement and specification you provide will be taken into account throughout the process, helping your dream garden room become a reality in your own little patch of the great outdoors. So, whether you have been working from home and think an office or study that’s closer to nature will brighten a dull workday, need a tranquil spot for yoga and meditation or have always wanted a summer house to host barbeques in the summer, we are more than certain that we can make it for you.
As each wooden garden building we provide is made to bespoke measurements and specifications, we cannot offer fully set prices for the work we carry out. However, we don’t want you to worry about what this could mean for your budget, so we will work closely with you to ensure that your planned timber room is made to your exact specifications, and comes with a calculated price tag that reflects this.
If you would like to start right away so that you have time to plan your perfect garden studio space or quiet home office into your finances, contact us using the number found at the top of this page. We will be ready and waiting to speak with you about what you would like. Alternatively, if you’d like to take some time to prepare your list of requirements, you can gather these together and send them to us in an email. One of our friendly members of staff will come back to you as soon as possible with an estimated price.
Will Sussex Garden Rooms Require Planning Permission?
A worry that often comes with planning any new installation on your property is getting permission from your local authority. Fortunately, in most cases, timber garden rooms are considered to be permitted development and will not require planning permission. However, there are some exceptions to this, and there are guidelines that should be followed if you wish to ensure that your long-awaited garden office or studio can be built as soon as it is delivered.
If you’d like to avoid the frustration of waiting and the fuss of filling out application forms, you should ensure that your wooden garden room:
Is located behind your property.
Is single-storey, with a maximum eaves of 2.5 metres and an overall height of 4 metres for dual pitched roofs, or 3 metres for single pitched roofs.
Is not higher than 2.5 metres if it’s 2 metres or less from your property boundary.
Does not have a veranda, balcony or raised platform.
Does not cover more than half the land found around your original property (not including space taken by previous extensions).
Is limited to 10 square metres if it’s being built on designated land (a national park or the Broads, a conservation area, a World Heritage Site or an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
Is not built within the curtilage of a listed building.
Is not going to be used as a separate residential home.
It should be noted that it will be your responsibility to ensure that you have full approval, before work is carried out. This may involve checking with your local council, or asking for permission from a landowner if you are a tenant.
You will also require listed building consent, if your property is a listed building. If you wish to learn more about this, please get in touch with your local planning authority. They will be able to provide you with more information.

What Our Clients Say About Us
Hi Kim. I would just like to thank you, Paul, John Ross and Krzysztof for my lovely shelters, I couldn’t think of a better company to go to. You have all been so efficient and helpful. The horses like the shelters so much that they refuse to go in them as they might spoil them! We will have to think of something else to build now just so we can use you again. Bestest wishes, Kate.
Dear Sarah. Your chaps did a great job on the stables and we are 100% happy with the installers and the stables. Many thanks and I will recommend you if anyone asks me about the stables. All the best. Adam.
Dear Nikkie. Just a quick note to let you know how delighted we are with the new field shelter and tack room that was delivered today. We are extremely impressed with the quality of the product and the whole process of choosing and purchasing through Prime Stables was very easy due to the care and professionalism you showed. We cannot thank you enough, and will definitely be in touch when we are ready to build our new stables. Thanks again. Jessie (and all the alpacas).
Thank you for your letter and all your kind support and help as a company during a period when I had so many problems with my base. The shelter is well made and the installation went smoothly and efficiently. I will certainly recommend you to anyone looking for stables or shelters… Thank you. Anne Walklate.
Nikkie, could you please pass on my thanks to your team that installed the field shelter for my antique Irish Bog Pony. They turned up on time and worked really hard to install it where I wanted it although the field was sodden and were all extremely polite. Kind regards, Paula Hynes.
